Pescoluse is the beach of Salento awarded by the National Geographic ranking as the best location for families. The US magazine praises the “crystalline water that flashes between turquoise and jade, the white and sugary sand” of the Apulian seaside resort which is rightfully included in the 12 most beautiful beaches in Italy.

More famous as “The Maldives of Salento“, the beach of Pescoluse, on the Ionian sea a few kilometers from Capo di Leuca, has been awarded as the best place for families.
“The east side of this finger of land – writes the journalist Julia Buckley – is an Amalfi-style roller coaster of corniches and coastal roads, while the west has a set of incredible beaches on the super still Ionian Sea. Pescoluse is probably the most stunning and, with its gently sloping waters, it is also excellent for families”.

Puglia is by no means new to this type of awards. In fact, already in 2014, it was awarded as the best destinations of Italy. Sicily, Calabria and Tuscany among the other regions that appear in the National Geographic ranking.
