The crypt of the Cathedral in Lecce
Composed of three large naves, with a Greek cross plan and small cross vaults on the ceiling, the Crypt rests on 92 columns at the top of which finely decorated capitals can be admired. The crypt has typical features of the style of the original structure built by the Normans in the fourteenth century at the behest of Bishop Roberto Volturio.
