ATTRATTIVE

Sand and sea with shallow water suitable for Children

Punta Prosciutto (Li Prisuti in local dialect) is a seaside town which is part of the municipality of Porto Cesareo and extreme northwestern in province of Lecce (Salento). It is considered one of the most beautiful beaches in Italy (and not only).

The crystal clear sea, pristine and wild environment, make this area a natural paradise for lovers of relaxation. In fact there are few beaches with equipped lidos, but large expanses of free and untouched beach. The peculiarity of the sea, is in the backdrop, which remains low for several meters from the coast, making it particularly suitable for families with children.

The beaches stretch for several kilometres. Behind extend ancient dunes covered by the typical local vegetation. 80% of the beaches are free and the water, for its blue-green color and shallow, reminds of tropical locations; a true hidden paradise for tourists seeking peace and tranquility, where nature, the sun and the sea reign.

STORIA E CENNI STORICI

In the past, the beach was considered an unhealthy environment, for the presence of swamps where malaria-carrying mosquitoes lurked.

Following the reclamation of the area, Punta Prosciutto began to show all its beauty, becoming over the years, a paradise of Salento.
