Every 1st November in Carpignano Salentino there is the Ognissanti Fair, one of the oldest festivals in the area. Born as an agricultural festival outside the village, around the year 1000, it originally had the purpose of exchanging products and tools for overcome the winter. As the fair became larger and larger, it was moved to Carpignano, where it still occupies a large area of ​​the village, involving almost the entire town.
Novello in Festa is celebrated in Leverano, one of the main events for wine lovers. Gastronomic stands of typical Salento products give the possibility of tasting, not only wines, but also cheeses, oil and other local products.
On the 9th, 10th and 11th in Taviano they celebrate San Martino, the patron saint. Along to the religious celebrations, do not miss the festival with typical local products, the tasting of Novello wine and pyromusical games. On the day of San Martino, all the inhabitants of Salento celebrate the new wine, with events in the squares and in the pubs of each village in the province.
